Thoughtful Thursday…stop procrastination, manage stress...

Welcome to Thoughtful Thursday. This GreenNote Fitness newsletter mindfully gathers and distills useful information that is supportive to our journey. It is my mission to educate, inspire, and propel you into action that moves you towards your goals and life of purpose. Take control of your journey today. Struggling with procrastination? Listen to wisdom from a Navy SEAL

Every now and again it’s easy to get stuck, feel like we are in a rut without knowing how to get “unstuck”. Well, if you need a kick in the rear, then I suggest listening to this podcast episode with Jocko Willink. He has his own podcast however, this one he is a guest host on the Tim Ferriss show. Jocko is a retired Navy SEAL officer and author of the books, Extreme Ownership: How U.S. Navy SEALs Lead and Win and Discipline Equals Freedom: Field Manual. He is co-founder of Echelon front, where he is a leadership instructor, speaker, and executive coach. The podcast gets into much detail on his training regiment. What I found useful was the first twenty or so minutes where he talks about procrastination and how to get up early. What’s great about listening to Jocko is the sound of his voice; it is what you would imagine a Navy SEAL who has served in combat would sound (and look) like. That is, you stand or sit up a little taller and pay attention.

"Senior leaders have a keen eye for what’s happening around them.…what many leaders lack is what’s going inside of themselves." This article details a big performing business leader who became stressed, exhausted and overwhelmed. The first step of getting out of your own way, as Fox explains, is developing your own inner Lookout. She outlines three steps to get started.

Coming in November

Beginning next week there will be a new focus in the GreenNote Fitness newsletters for the month of November. Stay tuned. You will want to see this.

Did you miss last week’s newsletter on float tank benefits and my experience…? You wouldn’t happen to know just one person that would benefit from this information? Please forward it to them. To your journey,

Lisa Schaffer
