Thoughtful Thursday…community focus...member profile

Welcome to Thoughtful Thursday. This GreenNote Fitness newsletter mindfully gathers and distills useful information that is supportive to our journey. It is my mission to educate, inspire, and propel you into action that moves you towards your goals and life of purpose. Take control of your journey today. November - GreenNote Fitness Community Focus

For the month of November we highlighted members of the community to get a glimpse of their journey and what is working well for them. This is a small way for GreenNote Fitness to pay tribute to the community and say ‘thank you’.

The focus this week is on Ian. A couple of things come quickly to mind when thinking about what is inspiring about him: he pushes himself, always, to improve and get better than he was the day before; and he consistently tries new activities on his own or with a bunch of friends. This helps him to set and achieve goals and to enjoy life. Shouldn’t that be a part of all of our journeys? Thank you Ian for sharing yours.

FYI - in the photo, Ian is the one holding a wallet and what appears to be a flask…I’m sure that’s water...

How do you make fitness part of your daily/weekly routine?

I feel like I work a lot but I try, at least a couple times a week if not more, to get to the gym. Thankfully we have a small one in our building. It can be hard sometimes after a long day but have been encouraging myself to get even a small workout in. But I also like to do sports or races. I play sand volleyball, and with my company have been doing trek up the tower and market to market. Doing those races allows me to set goals for myself and gives me motivation to meet them. Book or article you are currently reading and/or recommend? Recently finished The Mountain Between Us by Charles Martin. It was an interesting read with a nice twist. Other than that I try to read articles about eating healthier. What is your favorite thing to do when you just want to “un-plug” for a while? If I have the time I enjoy a good nap. It helps to recharge the batteries. Also if I have a good book that I want to read, I will make time for that. Favorite exercise? I like the standard exercises, especially squats and bench press. In the past five years, which new behaviors, beliefs, or habits have improved you life? Two things that I have improved my life are that I have been more cognizant of what I eat. I didn't make any large-scale changes but took small steps to be healthier. Also since I have a desk job I make a conscious effort to stand up and move around every so often. Did you miss last week’s newsletter community member profile of Tracy ...? You wouldn’t happen to know just one person that would benefit from this information? Please forward it to them.
