Thoughtful Thursday...exercising every day, keys to long-term fitness, and one exercise to look good

Welcome to Thoughtful Thursday. This GreenNote Fitness newsletter mindfully gathers and distills useful information that is supportive to our journey. It is my mission to educate, inspire, and propel you into action that moves you towards your goals and life of purpose. Take control of your journey today.

At the beginning of summer I wrote this article that explores a larger view of life and fitness. We explore body, mind and spirit. Always relevant and worth revisiting from time to time. Enjoy.

Fitness expert Shawn Stevenson of The Model Health Show goes deep into understanding the science of motivation. He discusses the importances of why we do things. “We’re going to take a peek behind the curtain of your psyche and help you to do more of the things that you really want to do in your life."

The title for this exercise caught my eye as I’m expecting, has caught yours as well. There are three specific body parts that really help you look good naked: your chest; abs; and butt. This is one exercise that will address all three of these important areas. What’s cool is that you can do this exercise anywhere and no equipment is needed, simply:

  • Start in a plank position

  • Rotate with one arm pointing to the sky

  • Lift one leg up so you are balancing on one arm and one leg (hold for 3-5 seconds)

  • Rotate arm back down while you lower leg

  • Complete a push up

  • Repeat other side

Do as many as you can until your entire body is shaking. Watch me in action by clicking the link above to the video. Did you miss last week’s newsletter on tips for reading, meditation for students, and exercise for shoulder health…?

You wouldn’t happen to know just one person that would benefit from this information? Please forward it to them.

To your journey,

Lisa Schaffer
