Thoughtful Thursday…3 resources for fit and functional bodies...

Welcome to Thoughtful Thursday. This GreenNote Fitness newsletter mindfully gathers and distills useful information that is supportive to our journey. It is my mission to educate, inspire, and propel you into action that moves you towards your goals and life of purpose. Take control of your journey today.

This summer I have been spending time delivering to you a message and measures to help you as a human being.

The message? Build self-reliance; build a fit and functional body.

There are many ways to maintain or build a fit and functional body. We’ve looked at a few ways to accomplish this; from endurance and speed to strength and recovery. We just need to apply these tools and keep applying them.

Let’s take a look at ways we can build fit and functional bodies. Below are a few high-lighted newsletters to be your guide.

Basics

We cover areas including: endurance; cardiovascular fitness; strength; speed & power. Great read for knowing what these areas encompass and recommendations for each. It also includes a 4-day Back to Basics Plan that you can use to get started.

Stretching

Every good training plan also has a recovery plan. In fact, recovery is not separate from regular training; it is very much part of it. If you are like me, you have had times of not recovering properly and paid the price. This newsletter explores the effects of “under”-recovery and provides an example of how to recover after a hard training session. “...it is natural to want some downtime. Don’t ignore that urge, plan and take the time to recover. You have given all that you have, pushed the limits, put out...now retreat, draw in and rest.”

Training can take on many different forms. It’s recognizing when and what your body and mind need that really can be life enhancing for some, or for others, life changing. This newsletter looks at different approaches to training that may be new to you or at least you may not have considered it “training”. See if you can incorporate this in your training plan.

As we discussed, there are many different approaches to becoming a fit and functional human being. Give these newsletters a read and let me know what you think.

How are you becoming Fit and Functional?

I’d like to know. Please leave comments in the comment section.

Enjoy your journey,

Lisa Schaffer
