My November Reflection...
This past month I have really come to know that I need to make things less complex and more simple. I've come to know that I must not neglect my body, mind, nor spirit and instead, pay more attention to them right now. That came by way of feeling drained. Trying to "keep up" with the fast pace of those around me and the feeling that things are getting a bit complex. In other words, I've given myself a big "time-out" to stop. Pause. Think deeply.

My reflection this month is on how to best support my body, mind, and spirit.
Body - Hydration
Ensuring that one is hydrated is arguably easier to do in the summer when it's hot. In cold weather and darker days it can be challenging. Getting enough water is simple to do but I was starting to neglect this. So I have been mindful of hydration by implementing these four non-negotiables:
Drink all of the water in my designated stainless steel water bottle (no plastic!)
Limit caffeine and alcohol (I already do this but good reminder these dehydrate the body)
On busier workout days, add a little bit of electrolytes to my water (I use the brand LMNT)
Use unsweetened coconut water in smoothies and substitute coconut water for sparkling water
Challenge for you:
What is one simple thing you can do today to nourish your body?
Mind - Allow for Space and Time
This phrase from Tim Ferriss' podcast promotion really struck me as a great description of what we may be feeling in this season right now: "As we head into the new year, many of us feel like we’re drowning in invisible complexity".
For me, I need space and time. I use this quiet to think deeply. It is in this quiet space that I truly know what someone I know (or don't know) needs. It is here without the noise that I can discern how I can be of service. It's not a "to-do" list but rather something that comes within, from the heart.
Without this space and time I can quickly switch gears into "overwhelm". With mindfulness I know when I need to step back and claim this for myself. It's not selfish. We can't be helpful to others without first putting ourselves in a place to succeed. Know thyself.
Challenge for you:
Does that sound like you? Drowning in invisible complexity? Where is one place you could simplify your life?

Spirit - Be Still
In the warmer months I did have some inner voice chatter telling me to slow down but I brushed it aside. Feedback data from my Aura ring and bloodwork has also been telling a similar tale. November was about coming to that place of knowing it is the season to quiet one's self.
This year's Hallow Advent Prayer Challenge is another signal to me to create space and time. Fittingly this year's theme is Be Still. I strongly encourage you to take a look at their "challenge". It is so well-done. Last year was incredible and I promise you it will be the best 12-minutes-ish a day you spend during this Advent season.
Challenge for you:
Take time out for yourself. Shut your eyes. Breathe deeply. Listen to your soul's warning. Listen to His word - Be still and know that I am God.
Quote I'm meditating on - Day 1 of Hallow Advent Prayer Challenge
“Jesus is walking toward you. He sees how desperately you’ve been trying to keep sight of Him.
He sees your exhaustion.
He reaches out His hand and says, ‘Come. Follow me and rest.’”
