Success formula…make it easy...

GreenNote Fitness is about presenting a path for fitness in body, mind, and spirit to help you upon your journey. When we look at the whole picture or the ultimate goal, it can be rather daunting. Sometimes, perhaps overwhelming, so much so that we completely shut down just thinking about the enormity of it all. I want you to be inspired to take action and not sit with pain and guilt. Rather, I am hopeful that you live more closely to Chief Tecumseh’s belief, “… Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and its purpose in the service of your people…”. How do we take action to beautify all things in our lives and live in service? How do we create a life of success? Don’t worry, it’s two easies. That’s the way that the entrepreneur and speaker, Jim Rohn, described the ‘success formula’. It goes something like this, identify a few of your key disciplines and practice it every day. Not once in awhile but every day. Doesn’t have to be heroic. It must be easy to do every day and easy not to do every day. He calls that the "two easies". The successful among us have identified their few disciplines and they do it every single day. For me it’s being grounded and focused on my purpose. Meditation is my easy to do, easy not to do discipline that I have made a decision to do each and every day. Every morning I meditate for 15 minutes. I precede it with some box breathing (breathe in five seconds, hold five seconds, exhale five seconds, hold five seconds) and afterwards a few yoga poses and gratitude practice. This requires getting up a little early which means going to be bed a little early. This is not difficult to do. It isn’t. It would be easy to only do once in awhile but I choose to do it every day. This discipline has helped me in so many ways. It has been foundational for me so that I can continue to build upon its benefits and take on new challenges. Strength builds upon strength; knowledge builds upon knowledge; it keeps going, keeps building. The path continues... As Rohn explained, this discipline must be cared for, "…the major reason for not having more of what you want…the major reason is simple neglect. If you don’t take care of neglect, it becomes an infection. And then it becomes a disease. The real magic of new disciplines is that they will cause us to amend our thinking. If we were to start today to read the books, keep a journal, attend the classes, listen more and observe more, then today would be the first day of a new life leading to a better future. If we were to start today to try harder, and in every way make a conscious and consistent effort to change subtle and deadly errors into constructive and rewarding disciplines, we would never again settle for a life of existence ..." So here is your success formula:

  • Identify a few of your key disciplines

  • Ensure they are easy to do and easy not to do

  • Do them each and every day

You can do this. Every. Day. To your journey, Lisa Schaffer GreenNote Fitness P.S. Checkout my Facebook page for inspiration. **Do you have a friend that would benefit from this information? Please forward it to them!**
