Set aside fear…reach for courage...


The past few weeks we have explored ideas in the realm of taking challenges and preparing ourselves for the new year fast approaching and for a way to lead an improved life by digging deep inside yourself to honor your gifts and uplift those around you. This week’s newsletter is a no nonsense call to action. To set aside fear and reach for courage…because you can. My intent is that you read and take hold of these concepts and put them into action in a consistent manner. Little by little, bit by bit, if you try to improve by just one percent per day, just one, over time it will be monumental. This week’s newsletter is a no nonsense call to action. To set aside fear and reach for courage…because you can. My intent is that you read and take hold of these concepts and put them into action in a consistent manner. Little by little, bit by bit, if you try to improve by just one percent per day, just one, over time it will be monumental.

Do you have the courage to:

  • Implement a movement practice daily - consistently move each day, no excuses, no gym or program hopping, just get it done. Here are five exercise to master for a better body Part 1 and Part 2.

  • Forge mental toughness - push negativity to the wayside and move forward with an energized frame of mind. Here are some book recommendations to get you started.

  • Connect with your heart - get away from distraction, be still, and listen. I use the meditation app, Headspace. Check them out here.

Hold comfort in the knowledge that by doing work on yourself is a benefit to those around you. Don’t feel like staying with a fitness program? Do it anyway. Think you don’t have ten minutes to meditate? Then you need an hour. Can’t get enough political satire? Turn it off and put quality time into reading something inspirational. And when this is tough and we feel weak, remember that we uplift others by uplifting ourselves.

Set aside fear and reach for courage…because we can. At the time of this posting, we have less than 50 days until one year is filed as a memory and the hope of a new year is upon us. What will you choose to create in this newness? How will you improve? Who will you help? What new memories will you create? Set aside fear and reach for courage…because you can.
