Thoughtful Thursday…Celebrate our (physical) independence

Welcome to Thoughtful Thursday. This GreenNote Fitness newsletter mindfully gathers and distills useful information that is supportive to our journey. It is my mission to educate, inspire, and propel you into action that moves you towards your goals and life of purpose. Take control of your journey today.

It’s Independence Day - a day we celebrate and recognize our independence from England that occurred July 4, 1776. We value our independence and all of our rights that we have in this country. Often we hear people speak passionately of their rights that they hold dear.

What about our physical independence? The ability to move our bodies without pain or discomfort. To walk, run, jump, raise our arms over our heads. What about being passionate about that type of independence? Not taken for granted. Grateful for what we have been given...worked on each and every day so that tomorrow we will be stronger than the day before.

As we celebrate today and are thankful for those who have worked hard for our freedom, let’s remember to work hard for our physical independence - to be fit and functional.

To be fit, to be functional, takes an awareness that we have it within ourselves to work at each day, to understand our health must be cultivated and nurtured, and respected. Those rights that we hold dear, let’s be sure to include our right to move without pain, our right to be healthy, our right to be fit and functional.

I’ve written much lately on developing fit and functional bodies. I am hopeful that this information will serve you:

Be strong...

Be safe...

Here’s to your independence...of every kind.

Enjoy your journey,

Lisa Schaffer
